Terms of Service

The Dream Line — havingstrangedreams.com
Effective date: August 4, 2026

By using the Dream Line website, phone line, or text line (together, "the Service"), you agree to these terms.

What the Service is

The Dream Line is an anonymous archive of dreams. You can submit a dream by voice or text; the Service transcribes and analyzes it, may reply with a brief automated reflection, and adds the anonymized text to a collective archive that powers public maps, statistics, and visualizations.

What the Service is not

The reflections you receive are generated by automated systems for reflective and entertainment purposes only. They are not medical, psychological, psychiatric, or therapeutic advice, and they are not dream "interpretation" in any clinical sense. Nothing in the Service diagnoses, treats, or predicts anything. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or someone you trust.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.

Your dreams, our license

You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting a dream, you grant DreamLine a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to transcribe, scrub, store, analyze, adapt, excerpt, publicly display (in anonymized form), and include your submission in aggregate datasets, visualizations, and research. Because submissions are anonymous, you understand that we may be unable to identify and withdraw a specific submission after the fact.

Acceptable use

Use the line for dreams. Do not submit content that is unlawful; that harasses, threatens, or targets real people; that contains someone else's personal information; that is sexually explicit involving minors (submissions of this kind will be reported to authorities); or that is spam or advertising. Do not attempt to probe, disrupt, or overload the Service. We may filter, decline to display, or delete any submission at our discretion.

Text messaging terms

The text line is conversational: you text first, we reply. Message frequency varies based on the conversation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to end messages; reply HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. It may change, pause, or end at any time. We don't promise the line will always be open, that transcription will be perfect, or that any particular dream will appear in the archive.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DreamLine and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed fifty dollars (US $50).

Indemnity

You agree to hold DreamLine harmless from claims arising out of content you submit in violation of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted here with its effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
